Lord today was not a good day
they told lies about me
falsely accusing me of much
how cruel this world can be

but then I remember Your hurts
how they told lies on You
it’s comforting to know You’re here
helping to see me through
____
and the persecution was hard
it cuts into the heart
but You also have felt this pain
You understand my part
____
for suffering what I’ve gone through
and enduring man’s hate
I’m comforted by Your presence
to You I can relate
____
I sure am thankful for You Lord
and how Your grace helps me
in coping with life’s experiences
I find my strength in Thee
____
whatever persecution brings
I know that I can cope
because someday I’ll be with God
my friend my Lord my Hope
____
so really its not hard to bear
when one keeps faith in love
looking toward that day of joy
with Jesus up above
